This is the public service announcement you've been waiting for. First one in 2017.
1. Big turn, guys.
I wish to expand Vielt's circle of friends because as I learn German I kept using the same characters over and over again. It is not ideal to overlap two terms on one character.
There are at least 54 canonical characters in Rove's circle alone, Rove himself included.
Vielt's circle only has 6 canons, 'long with Vielt himself. The easy(er) goal is to create two new characters for every two. The result would be 12 characters I can choose from. This will then expand to 18. Then to 24. 30. 36. And eventually, 54.
54 characters to choose from. Quite a decision, huh.
2. "Do not leave art galleries empty-handed."
I chase art exhibitions because I get to see the world through a pair of eyes that is not mine.
As I go through one, I always have a little notebook in my hand and what do I write down?
Name of artist, and the message that I received from the artwork, or what I think the artist is trying to say, or how I think the artist created the artwork.
And nothing else. No, I do not approve of you taking photos of others' artworks.
Should I tell you not all art galleries allow this, because it's seen as plagiarizing. And from my standpoint, I'd think you're taking pictures to show my work to other people, hence preventing them to visit my exhibition. Rude, right. So don't do it.
Now imagine you pick up the same notebook for the first time in two years. Would you remember the artwork you wrote about? Hopefully not. Why should you forget about the artworks? Because that new message you wrote that day, that is your motivation. That message is what YOUR artwork will be based upon.
Boom, say goodbye to artist's block.
Now that I tell you about this trick, are you gonna just leave art galleries empty-handed?
3. I'm one of those people that do not enjoy posting something straight after an event happened.
If I do that, some people will know exactly where I am. Yes, I do make location-based comics. And I hate revealing that to the public.
Coward, you call me. Oh yes, do label me a coward. I better stay hidden than having strangers look for me.
And so I upload these kinda comics long after I drew them because that way, no one will find me at the referred location since I've then moved places. This is how my 'dA scheduling' works.
4. So I've started a series that has zero drawings in it; "Lonely Letters".
This is the so-called story of four completely separate teenagers that write to their own receivers, until...
One of them wished for all four to meet through writing. And this changed everything.
There's Michelle Keller Burgundy, the main char. She writes to the general public like dear world, dear all, or dear earth.
Next is Sam Jade Locke. He writes to many of his friends but he never writes to the same friend twice.
Then comes Sean Fisch Mason. Sean writes to only one person. And her name is Eleanor. Reading his letters will give you an idea of who Eleanor is.
Last but not least, Melissa Szed Terrikha. She is a special one, because she knows that these three letter writers exist and she only writes to them. But none of them knows that she exists. Melissa is able to read Michelle's, Sam's and Sean's letters but none of them can read hers.
Sometimes Daxem and I intervene by writing letters to each other. When we do this, we disorientate the four writers. The four writers gain consciousness and wake up confused once Daxem and I are done exchanging letters.
Sorry, I vowed to never draw how Michelle, Sam, Sean, and Melissa look like. This is what writing is for. To describe.
5. Short one guys, once I redraw old doodles to post here, I will finally have more space in my folder given that I'll be able to discard my old, old drawings.
I already drafted a Valentine's day comic (2 parts, actually) but then another idea came up last week. Don't think I'll be posting on the day, but that's the behind the scenes.
I am busy. But I've recently drew a ton for my study. I get to draw, it's just that you don't get to see. So don't go thinking that I quit doodlin'. I'm just not showing you.
That's it artists, stay determined and keep going.
